TRYST WITH DESTINY - A GHOST STORY WRITTEN BY KHADI MADA IS OFFICIALLY SELECTED FOR COMPETITION IN INTERNATIONAL CINEMA PRIZE
CONCEPT OF THE SCREENPLAY
On the eve of India Independence Day 1985, with Nehru's haunting speech on the television, Princess Lily Gandhavariya and Lady Nora "Nur" Hale, two aging life-long friends are still haunted by the events of that same day in 1947, when their husbands died during the riots. They seem beset by ghosts. Ghosts of the Jalianwalla Bagh Massacre, the Dandi Salt March, and the partitioning of India.
